Department Overview

  • The Visual and Performing Arts Department allows students to explore the arts in a number of different ways; through artistic expression, through creation or by vocal/instrumental performance. All high school students are required to take one full year of a visual or performing arts course, but we strongly encourage students to stay enrolled throughout their high school careers in order to have well-rounded educational experience.

Our Performing Arts offerings are Concert Band, Concert Choir, Piano I & II, History of Popular Music, and Music Theory.

Our Visual Arts offerings are Foundations of Art & Design, Drawing, Ceramics, Contemporary Crafts I & II, Sculpture, Painting I & II, Digital Photography, Advanced Digital Photography, Commercial Photography, and AP Studio Art.

**Digital Photography, Advanced Digital Photography, and Commercial Photography can either count towards the Visual/Performing Arts graduation requirement OR the Career Readiness graduation requirement.
