Department Overview

  • The Social Studies Department at Saddle Brook High School is committed to helping students develop a civic responsibility as well as a cultural appreciation. The Social Studies Department remains committed to enhancing our curriculum and emphasizing primary source analysis. High school students are required to take three years of Social Studies courses that cover modern world and United States History. The course sequence is World History, United States History I (pre 1920), and United States History II (post 1920). While only three years of high school social studies is required, the department encourages students to take a fourth year elective. Our fourth year options include Sociology, Criminal Law, AP European History, and Human Geography.
