Welcome

  • Welcome to Franklin School!  Franklin Elementary School is a K-6 building, where we currently have two classes at each grade level.  Affectionately, we are known as the Franklin Family.

All members of the Franklin School community are committed to Social and Emotional Learning.  For the 2022-23 school year, we have launched a new program to help our students shine BRIGHT.  BRIGHT is an acronym that means: Building Relationships Inspiring Greatness and High Expectations Together.  Why?

    • Because WE believe in Saddle Brook Schools

    • Because OUR students deserve BRIGHT futures

    • Because WE believe OUR students can shine BRIGHT

Each Wednesday, the school day will begin with a BRIGHT/SEL activity. Students will engage in these activities with their classmates and homeroom teacher.  Special Area teachers will be joining in on a rotating basis which helps to nurture the community feeling that we so cherish here at FES.  One Wednesday a month, there will be a BRIGHT community assembly and students have the opportunity to be recognized with a Shining Bright Award.

Academically, our teachers implement a balanced literacy approach.  This means that the classroom instruction will be based upon the needs of each individual student. Math lessons are student centered and promote high levels of engagement and problem-solving skills.  Students in grades 3-6 will participate in our district's 1:1 initiative and receive school-issued Chromebooks.

The teachers at FES do an amazing job of supporting our students in their education. As principal, I believe that students learn best when they are engaged, connected, and feel a sense of belonging.  I want our children to leave Franklin School knowing how to communicate effectively with one another in order to solve problems, and having the perseverance to overcome obstacles.    As our namesake, Ben Franklin, has stated, "Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn."
